The End of Civilization

Our worship service theme for the month of February is eschatology, meaning where we come from, where we are going, and what is our ultimate goal or endpoint. Despite great technological advances in recent decades, our current era can seem like the end of the world—as evidenced by irreversible climate change, the rise of authoritarian regimes worldwide, and the continued oppression and marginalization of racial and ethnic minorities, LGBTQ people, women, and many others. If it really is the end, would it make a difference to our purpose and our mission as a religious community?

Our designated offering this week will benefit the Persad Center, is a human service organization whose mission is to improve the well-being of the LGBTQ ommunities in western Pennsylvania.
