Sunnyhill ACTION!

The Sunnyhill ACTION Team (Actions of Compassion for Transformation in our Neighborhood) exists to help our congregation live its values beyond our walls through acts of compassion, service, and justice. We coordinate opportunities for members, friends, children, and youth of the church to engage in meaningful service, build relationships with community partners, and respond faithfully to today’s needs of our wider community.

Work Party at Mt. Washington Community Garden

RSVP for the Garden Work Party

Sunnyhill ACTION invites you to participate in a work party at the Mt. Washington Community Garden on Saturday, July 18 from 8:30 – 11:00.

The garden is sponsored by Grow Pittsburgh and is located adjacent to the Ream Recreation Center and pool (321 Merrimac Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15211). There is a large pollinator garden, seventeen 3′ x 12′ raised beds for vegetables, and six fruit trees. During this work party we will assist the gardeners with watering, weeding, deadheading, composting, harvesting, and other garden maintenance chores. The garden has a water source, a meeting area, tools, and stairs for climbing the hill. All ages are welcome to participate. Mary Jo Sonntag, a Sunnyhill member, is sponsoring this event.
